Timber for 250 pallets $3,230.00

You could build a pallet with your eyes shut. Quoting one is the slow part.

The spreadsheet

Seven boards at 1.165 m, three bearers at 1.165 m, times the rate per metre, plus nails. Then the customer asks what it would cost at 1140.

The sketch

A drawing on the back of a docket that only you can read, sent to a customer who won't sign off what they can't picture.

The callback

“Let me work it out and get back to you.” By the time you ring back with a number, they've already asked someone else.

Pallet Quote does all three while you're still on the phone.

From a phone call to a signed-off quote

Build it and watch it take shape

Pick the timber and size for the bottom boards, bearers and top deck. The pallet appears in 3D as you go, to scale, with the gaps worked out and dimensioned.

  • It never lets you fit more boards than the width allows
  • Different leader boards on the outside edges, priced separately
  • Drag to turn it round and show the customer exactly what they're getting

Priced per metre, the way you buy timber

Every board and bearer is costed on its real length at your own rate per metre. Add your labour per pallet and your markup, and GST goes on top. Change the size or the quantity and the price follows.

  • Markup and the gross margin it gives, side by side
  • Timber prices are locked until you unlock them, so nobody changes one by accident
  • Each line shows the count, the size and the length it was priced on

Drawings your customer can sign off

Every quote comes with a proper shop drawing. Plan, front and side elevations at true scale, an isometric view, and an enlarged end detail with every thickness marked.

  • Lettered parts that match the specification table
  • Board widths, gaps, bearer spacing and overall height dimensioned
  • Third-angle projection with a title block, scale and notes

One PDF for the customer, one for you

Send the customer a clean quote with your business details, the drawings, the specification and the total with GST. Keep a cost breakdown for yourself with every metre, your markup and your profit. Both carry the same quote number.

  • The customer copy shows what they're buying and what it costs, nothing more
  • Every quote is saved with the rates it was priced on, so an old quote never changes when timber does
  • Reopen a past quote, or duplicate it at today's rates for a repeat order

Move the sliders and watch the deck and the price change. This is a cut-down version with three bottom boards and three 100 × 38 bearers. It shows timber cost only; the full calculator adds your labour, markup and GST.

The small things that save the most time

  • Saved presets

Save the pallets you quote every week and load one with a click. Change the quantity and the quote is done.

  • Locked prices

Your rates stay put until you unlock them. Update them when the timber invoice changes, then lock them again.

  • Leader boards

Wider or thicker boards on the outside edges, with the gaps recalculated and each size priced on its own line.

  • Works without signal

Once it's opened, it keeps working in the yard, the truck or the back paddock. Quote now, send it when you're back in range.

  • Phone, tablet or desk

The same calculator on whatever's in your hand, with the running total pinned to the top of the screen.

  • Every quote on file

Quotes are numbered and saved as you send them. Mark them sent, accepted or lost, search by customer, and duplicate one for a repeat order.

Questions

Do I need to install anything?

No. Open it in the browser on your phone, tablet or computer. On a phone you can add it to your home screen and it opens like an app.

Can I use my own timber prices?

Yes. Every board and bearer size has its own price per metre, plus a price per nail. Unlock a price, change it and save. Your prices stay on your device and can be exported to a file and imported on another one.

Which timber and sizes does it cover?

It comes set up with green case pine and kiln dried boards and bearers in the common sizes, from 100 × 12 up to 150 × 25 for boards. Any width and length of pallet works.

Does the price include my labour and profit?

Yes, once you set them. Enter your labour per pallet and your markup under Prices and every quote includes them. The quote shows the markup and the gross margin it works out to, so there's no confusion between the two. Freight isn't included yet.

Will my customer understand the drawing?

That's what it's for. The customer copy shows a plan, two elevations, a 3D view and an enlarged end detail, with each part lettered to match the list underneath. There's nothing to interpret.

What does the customer see, and what stays with me?

The customer PDF shows your business details, the drawings, the parts and sizes, the price per pallet, GST and the total. Your rates, labour, markup and line-by-line costs only appear on the breakdown PDF, which is for your own records.

Where is my data kept?

Prices, presets and saved quotes are stored in the browser on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere. Use Back up to save a copy to a file, which you can import on another device. Keep a backup, because clearing your browser data clears them too.
